If you haven't heard what a Citizen Police Academy is or entails here are a few highlights:

* Metro Police Officers volunteer to conduct training sessions on various aspects of modern day law enforcement.
* Citizens have an opportunity to ride with an on-duty police officer.
* We go on a tour of the Outagamie County Jail and Communication center
* Discuss and learn about the Police School Liaison Program, Investigation procedures, Traffic law, Drunk driving arrests, Court procedures and more...
A Citizen Police Academy gives Citizens a chance to meet their Police Officers and vice versa. This facilitates an understanding between both. The Citizens learn not only what the Police do but how and why. The Officers get a chance to meet their customers and learn what services they expect or desire.
The Citizen Police Academy is open to people who are at least 16 years old with no criminal record. Preference will be given to people who live or work in Little Chute, Kimberly or the Kimberly School District.
The Academy will meet on Tuesdays from 7:00p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Fox Valley Metro Police Department (Little Chute Safety Center). The Academy meets for nine sessions with a graduation on the last.
